Oreades Press

Six Endings and Some Beginnings

Lost Cities

Founded in 2014, Oreades Press is a collaborative project by Rachel TonThat and Irene Lee named after the nymphs of the mountains who protect travelers.

About

We support and publish environmental storytelling to foster relationships between individuals, local communities, and the natural world.

Our artist books have been collected by Franklin Furnace at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, the SMFA Collection at Tufts University in Boston, and the Volumes Archive in Zurich. Through our digital archive, Impermanent Earth, we have published artists and writers from five continents and strive to represent diverse voices around the world.

We host free, publicly accessible creative workshops throughout the year, most recently with Center For Book Arts and at Brooklyn Public Library.
